Zusammenfassung

Der unerfüllte Kinderwunsch betrifft ungefähr 10 bis 15 % aller Partnerschaften. Die Ursachen sind häufig multifaktoriell bedingt: Neben primär ovariellen, hypothalamisch- hypophysären, extragenital endokrinen, psychogenen, immunologischen, genetischen, tubaren, uterinen, zervikalen und vaginalen Sterilitätsursachen fallen zahlenmäßig zunehmend andrologische und nicht abklärbare Faktoren (»idiopathische Sterilität«) ins Gewicht. In 30 % der Fälle liegen Sterilitätsursachen bei beiden Partnern vor.
