Zusammenfassung
Erreger Verursachender Pilz der Candidiasis ist überwiegend Candida albicans (oder andere Candidasubtypen), vereinzelt treten Torulopsistypen oder sehr selten andere Pilze auf. In einer belgischen Studien wurden bei Frauen mit Pilzinfektionen in 68% der Fälle Candida albicans, in 16% C. glabrata und in 9% C. psarapilosis isoliert (Tiene et al. 2002). Insgesamt 75% aller Frauen erkranken mindestens einmal in ihrem Leben, ca. 45% mehr als 2-mal an einer vulvovaginalen Candidiasis. In der zitierten belgischen Studie war eine positive Pilzkultur am häufigsten bei Schwangeren und am seltensten bei postmenopausalen Frauen ohne Hormonsubstitution zu finden (Bauters et al. 2002). Bei Frauen mit Ovulationshemmern war das Risiko einer Pilzkolonisation umso höher, je höher die Östrogendosis des oralen Antikonzeptivums war.
