Zusammenfassung

Die Verknüpfung stressbezogener, neurobiologischer und entwicklungspsychologischer Forschungserkenntnisse hat in den letzten Jahren ein zunehmend klareres Bild von den Auswirkungen frühkindlicher Stresserfahrungen auf die körperliche und psychische Gesundheit im Erwachsenenalter erbracht. Das kumulative Einwirken von – in prospektiven Studien gesicherten – ungünstigen Umweltbedingungen kann demnach die Lebenserwartung um bis zu 20 Jahre reduzieren. Bedeutsam ist dabei eine neurobiologisch früh geprägte Stressvulnerabilität, welche sich auch auf die individuell erlernten Verhaltensmechanismen, nicht zuletzt in der Bindungs- und Beziehungsgestaltung, auswirkt. Dies führt zu einem erhöhten Auftreten von Risikoverhaltensweisen (z. B. frühes Rauchen, Alkohol- und Drogenkonsum, wechselnde Sexualpartner, Bewegungsmangel). Darüber kommt es zu einem erhöhten Auftreten von körperlichen Erkrankungen, welche dann die Lebenserwartung beeinflussen.
