Abstract

Network performance and nodes energy problems are considered as one of the most important aspects of a wireless network based on ZigBee technology. How to prolong the life of ZigBee networks is an important purpose to design ZigBee routing protocol. Based on energy management, ACO-AODV (Ant Colony Optimization-Ad hoc On-Demand Distance Vector Routing) routing protocol can keep the good network performance and extend the life of ZigBee networks. Simulation results show that ACO-AODV algorithm is feasible and energy conservation. This approach can maintain a low the average end to end data packet delay while effectively reducing energy consumption, so the performance of ZigBee networks can be improved and achieve the low energy consumption, low-Delay design goals.
