Abstract
Based on the model of a discrete-time stationary Rayleigh flat-fading channel introduced in the previous chapter, we calculate bounds on the achievable rate with identically distributed (i.d.) input symbols within the present chapter. This assumption will be needed in the derivation of the upper bound on the achievable rate. Concerning the input distribution, we explicitly discuss the following two cases: On the one hand, the case of a peak-power constraint and, on the other hand, the special case of i.i.d. zero-mean proper Gaussian input symbols.
