Abstract
In the use of the group \(SU(3),\) the simple replacement of the eighth vector \(G^8\,\hbox{by}\,G^8/\sqrt{3}\) allows to replace this group by the direct product of three \(SU(2)\times U(1).\) Also it allows the geometrical interpretation of the theories in which \(SU(3)\) is used. A question may be posed: is this change suitable for the Quantum Chromodynamics Theory?
