Zusammenfassung
Das Leitsymptom der Fibromyalgie ist der generalisierte, persistienrende muskuläre Schmerz, dessen Ätiologie unbekannt ist. Schmerzen sind durch Druck an weningstens 11 von 18 definierten Tender points auslösbar. Zusätzliche Symptome wie beispielsweise Müdigkeit, Schlafstörungen oder auch die häufig beobachtete Depressivität wurden in die diagnostischen Kriterien nicht mit aufgenommen, da weitere Verbesserungen der Spezifität oder Sensibilität, die bei Vorhandensein der erwähten diagnostischen Kriterien bei über 80% liegt, hierdurch nicht erreicht werden konnten.
