Abstract

This chapter describes a program to digitize points in a digital image that are stored in and managed by a database. This includes the adding, inserting and deleting of records as well as data queries. Databases allow centralized access to information in a way that is consistent, efficient and relatively easy to create and maintain. What follows is some basic knowledge of databases that is required to be able to understand the functionality of the designed program.
