Zusammenfassung
Bei Großschadensereignissen, die durch Terroranschläge, Natur- und technische Katastrophen entstehen, werden alle Betroffenen mit chaotischen Bedingungen und einer großen Anzahl Verletzter und Toter konfrontiert. Die Priorität medizinischer Maßnahmen bei der Rettung und Versorgung der Opfer verstellte lange den Blick dafür, dass die Exposition zu Lebensgefahr und grauenhaften Eindrücken die seelische Gesundheit von Überlebenden, Angehörigen und Einsatzkräften schwerwiegend beeinträchtigen kann.
