Abstract

We have already reported that the levels of FFAs in the global frontal cortex showed a biphasic increase at 1 and 24 h following rat permanent focal ischemia [1]. To evaluate the regional characteristic of frontal cortex (penumbra) on the alteration of membrane phospholipids after MCA occlusion, the rat frontal cortex was divided into upper and lower parts, and their free fatty acid compositions were examined.
