Zusammenfassung

Der Anteil älterer Menschen an der Gesamtbevölkerung nimmt dramatisch zu. Da diese Bevölkerungsgruppe wegen chronischer Erkrankungen und Multimorbidität einen hohen Verbrauch an Arzneimitteln aufweist kommt der Pharmakotherapie des alternden Menschen besondere Bedeutung zu. Das Kapitel beschreibt die Besonderheiten der Arzneimittelbehandlung älterer Menschen in enger Verknüpfung mit physiologischen Besonderheiten.
