Zusammenfassung
Die Restauration von kariösen Defekten und das Wiederherstellen der Kaufähigkeit gehören nach wie vor zu den Hauptaufgaben des Zahnarztes. Ästhetische Gestaltung, zahnähnliches Aussehen, Biokompatibilität und Haltbarkeit der Restaurationen sind, nicht zuletzt durch die gestiegenen Ansprüche der Patienten, neben der akuten Schmerzbeseitigung immer mehr in den Vordergrund getreten. Die technische Weiterentwicklung hat auch im Bereich der Zahnmedizin zu neuen Werkstoffen und Behandlungsmethoden geführt. Die keramische Verblendung und die zahnfarbene Füllung sind aus der modernen Zahnmedizin nicht mehr wegzudenken (Abb. 10.1, 10.2).
