Zusammenfassung

Im Gegensatz zur überwiegend monoätiologischen Mitralstenose gibt es für die Mitral- insuffizienz eine Vielzahl wichtiger Ätiologie und damit Verbindungen zu den verschie- densten der in diesem Lehrbuch dargestellten Grundkrankheiten. Das ist auch der Grund dafür, dass die Häufigkeit der Mitralinsuffizienz in den westlichen Ländern ebenfalls im Gegensatz zur Mitralstenose keineswegs abgenommen hat.
