Zusammenfassung
Unter dem Namen Zoonosen, abgeleitet von den griechischen Worten für Tier (t0 ζoov) und für Krankheit (η vooη), wurden ursprünglich Krankheiten der Tiere verstanden. Erst als man im 19. Jahrhundert begann, die Ursachen von Infektionskrankheiten zu verstehen, wandelte sich auch die Bedeutung des Begriffs »Zoonosen«.
