Zusammenfassung

Bei {bTyp-2-Diabetes} liegt meist eine Adipositas und auch eine Insulinresistenz vor. Eine Reduktion der Energiezufuhr ist bei diesen Patienten die wesentliche Therapiemaßnahme. Damit ist in der Regel eine Besserung der erhöhten Blutglukosewerte, der Insulinresistenz, der gesteigerten Glukoseproduktion in der Leber und oft auch der Insulinsekretion zu erreichen. Eine Gewichtsabnahme vermag zudem erhöhte Blutdruck- und Serumlipidwerte zu senken, die häufig bei metabolischem Syndrom zusammen mit zentraler Adipositas und Diabetes auftreten. Auch die besondere Assoziation dieser Patienten zu kardio-und zerebrovaskulären Erkrankungen ist präventiv und therapeutisch mit einer energie- und fettreduzierten Kost günstig zu beeinflussen.
