Zusammenfassung
Als Corticosteroide werden die natürlichen Steroidhormone der Nebennierenrinde und ihre synthetischen Derivate bezeichnet. Nach ihren vorherrschenden Wirkungen auf den Kohlenhydratstoffwechsel und den Elektrolythaushalt werden sie in Glucocorticoide und Mineralocorticoide eingeteilt. Sie haben ein weites Spektrum physiologischer und pharmakologischer Wirkungen und werden vor allem zur Hormonsubstitution und zur Entzündungshemmung therapeutisch eingesetzt.
