Zusammenfassung
Als entscheidender Erfolgsfaktor für das Cloud Computing wird oft dessen wirtschaftliche Bedeutung angeführt. Mit Cloud Computing wird das Potenzial verbunden, die individuelle Nutzung bzw. Bereitstellung von IT-Ressourcen in einzelnen Unternehmen als auch die IT-Industrie in ihrer Gesamtheit grundlegend und nachhaltig zu verändern. Drastische Zeitersparnisse und geringere Risiken und Hürden in der Einführung neuer Anwendungen, sowie signifikante Kostenersparnisse allgemein in der Durchführung von IT-Projekten, werden dabei oft als die wesentlichen Vorteile des Cloud Computing benannt. Dieses Kapitel vermittelt einen Überblick über Anwendungen des Cloud Computing und die damit verbundenen ökonomischen Aspekte und Fragestellungen.
