Abstract
The successful integration of an electronic scanning antenna within car radar will allow the angular position of vehicles to be determined accurately and tracking to be maintained as the vehicle changes lanes and manoeuvres around corners. This paper describes the work currently undertaken at the BAE SYSTEMS Advanced Technology Centre to develop systems based on ferrite devices that are capable of electronically steering circularly polarised microwave beams, in the azimuth plane.
