Zusammenfassung

Die Notfallmedizin kann in Deutschland auf eine lange Tradition zurückblicken, auch wenn dies heute häufig verkannt, ignoriert oder vergessen wird zugunsten der sog. Historie der angloamerikanischen Notfallmedizin. Wenn z. B. in Groß britannien und den USA die Arbeit von Pantridge [41] aus den frühen 1960er-Jahren als historischer Beginn der ersten präklinischen Defibrillation gewertet wird, so stehen dem zeitlich und qualitativ gleichwertige Alternativen im deutschen Sprachraum gegenüber (Notarztwagen Heidelberg, Mainz, Kö ln etc.).
