Abstract

Coagulation testing is currently gaining increasing importance in veterinary Medicine. This applies particularly to coagulation factor VIII and its associated diseases [1, 2, 5, 6, 9, 10]. It therefore appeared necessary to examine the Methods currently used for the determination of factor VIII activity with regard to their comparability and suitability for use in animals. The coagulometric and chromogenic assay Methods established for the determination of factor VIII activity in human Medicine were used.
