Abstract
Many years ago the automobile began without electronic components. It was a simple vehicle with a minimum of electrical components and features for creature comfort. Today’s automobile is a vastly different generation of vehicle, which includes electronic modules for control, fuel efficiency, safety, entertainment and comfort. We live in a world, which demands ever-increasing features, quality, and reliability from our automobiles. These customer demands have increased the power requirement in vehicles to a level where the traditional 14 V/28 V systems are struggling to keep up. Moving to a 42V-PowerNet allows the automotive industry manufacture vehicles, which can power the increasing electrical loads.
