Abstract

The paper presents remarks on possible using fuzzy sets and their cylindric extensions in representations of compound linguistic terms, e.g. young and tall. A description of such a representation is proposed to formalize unions and intersections of fuzzy sets in different universes of discourse but concerning the same object that manifests some attributes. We show an application of the proposed description in linguistic summaries of databases in the sense of Yager.
