Abstract
The design process consists of multiple repetitive steps of design, calculation and verification of technical feasibility and spatial implications reported by (Krause in Konstruktionselemente der Feinmechanik 2004). Solution-based approaches to machine design considerably reduce uncertainty and workload. With the use of timing belts, the drive space-efficiency and physical properties are iteratively modified to reach the desired target values. In order to efficiently accomplish the target solution, the necessary steps for drive design are summarized in the following chapter, which demonstrates easy ways to assess and determine the drive design and performance.
