Abstract

It is sometimes sufficient to consider only a sub-structure of the arrangement (that is, some portion 3 of the arrangement) to solve a computational problem at hand, rather than the entire arrangement. 4 In this chapter we examine one useful sub-structure called the envelope of a set of curves (or a set 5 of surfaces).
