Abstract

Preferences play an important role in our daily decisions. However, managing preferences is a hard task. We always hesitate when we are faced with multiple choices. Fortunately, work over the past decade in artificial intelligence concerning preferences has been extremely successful. In particular, there is a large number of compact preference representation languages in the literature, ranging from quantitative to qualitative languages. They are particularly appealing when the number of choices is large. Compact languages support different formats of preferences. Therefore, we distinguish between weighted logics, conditional logics and graphical languages.
