Zusammenfassung
Im Arbeitsleben sind zwischenmenschliche Konflikte alltäglich und unvermeidlich. Denn Menschen haben ganz unterschiedliche und häufig gegensätzliche Überzeugungen und Bedürfnisse. Als Mitarbeiter desselben Unternehmens jedoch müssen sie – trotz gegensätzlicher Ansichten oder Interessen – koordiniert handeln, d. h. einander zuarbeiten, gemeinsam Entscheidungen treffen und ihre Aktivitäten im Sinne der gemeinsamen Unternehmensziele harmonisieren. Die Frage, wie sich das Handeln von Menschen mit unvereinbaren Überzeugungen oder Bedürfnissen effektiv koordinieren lässt und wie sich die Konflikte vermeiden und bewältigen lassen, die daraus resultieren, stellt eine zentrale Herausforderung für die Gestaltung von Organisationen dar (Jaffee, 2008).
