Zusammenfassung
Die Verabreichung von epiduralen oder intrathekalen Opiaten zur postoperativen Analgesie ist eine Technik, die sich in Operationssälen, Entbindungsstationen und Intensivstationen zunehmender Beliebtheit erfreut. Patienten, die eine Epidural- oder Intrathekal- (Spinal)Anästhesie erhalten haben, werden häufig auf Intensivstationen postoperativ nachbetreut. Teilweise wird die Therapie dort zur postoperativen Analgesie fortgeführt. Deshalb müssen Ärzte und Pfl egepersonal über die Wirkungen der epiduralen Analgetika und Koanalgetika sowie über die zu bedienenden Katheter- und Pumpensysteme Kenntnisse besitzen, den analgetischen Eff ekt bestimmen und im Falle von Komplikationen und Nebenwirkungen intervenieren können.
