Abstract

Supporting to RS, GIS, SPSS 11.0 and according to land survey data for Nanchong City conducted a comprehensive analysis on land-use change in 1997-2007, and explored the main socio-economic reasons in cultivated land changes. The result showed that cultivated land and unused land area have overall decreased, the other land have increased in some extent from 1997 to 2007 in Nanchong City; The overall land-use changes in direction: agricultural land and unused land Conversed to construction land, cultivated land conversed to the garden and water land, and unused land to woodland. Second, there was a big difference in space in Nanchong City. Among these districts in Nanchong, Yilong country, Xichong country and Nanchong urban changed dramaticly. Third, Population growth and urbanization were the main factors of cultivated land change in Nanchong City.
