Abstract
In this Chapter, steady state solutions for PDFs are found, including Rayleigh distribution corresponding to Gaussian wave fields, as well as wave distributions with power-law tails. The latter correspond to a probability flux in the amplitude space and are related to the physical process of wave breaking. They correspond to an enhanced probability of large-amplitude events which is called intermittency in the turbulence theory and which can be linked to the rogue wave phenomenon in WT context. Further, the findings about the k-space and the amplitude space fluxes are combined into a two-dimensional flux on the wavenumber-amplitude plane, which leads to the unifying picture of a WT life cycle which describe coexisting and interacting random and coherent wave components
