Abstract
Based on the analysis of regional development trends and national scientific and technological demands in Chapter 2, we can understand that along with the development of economic globalization and global economic integration, the rapid process of industrialization and urbanization as well as the employment of powerful new technologies are profoundly reshaping the basic structures of man-earth areal system, the evolutionary process of regional development, and the spatial pattern of global and national development. Therefore, it is of urgent strategic importance and scientific significance to strengthen the studies of regional development in order to provide scientific support for central and local strategic policy-makings.
