Abstract

Bosons are particles with integer spin s = n, fermions are particles with spin s = n + 1/2 with n being an integer including zero. The fundamental quantum-mechanical property of the wavefunction of a system with N such particles is that under exchange of any two particles, the wavefunction is symmetric in the case of bosons and antisymmetric in the case of fermions.
