Zusammenfassung

In diesem Kapitel geht es um die Frage, was im Gehirn passiert, wenn positive Gefühle – eine zentrale Facette von Wohlbefinden – erlebt werden. Moderne bildgebende Verfahren wie die Positronen- Emissions-Tomographie und insbesondere die funktionelle Kernspintomographie haben sich im letzten Jahrzehnt zu sehr wichtigen Untersuchungsinstrumenten in den Neurowissenschaften entwickelt, da sie die ortsbezogene Messung der neuronalen Aktivität im Gehirn ermöglichen. Die funktionelle Kernspintomographie weist gegenüber der Positronen-Emissions-Tomographie den Vorteil auf, dass sie ein nicht-invasives Verfahren ohne bekannte Nebenwirkungen darstellt.
