Zusammenfassung

Wie der Begriff schon sagt, ist bei diesem Krankheitsbild nicht ein einzelnes Organ betroffen. Vielmehr handelt es sich um multiple Störungen, die nicht nur den Bewegungsapparat betreffen. Gemeinsam ist diesen Erkrankungen, dass sie mit nur wenigen Ausnahmen erblich sind und somit als Heredopathien bezeichnet werden und dass sie in aller Regel mit einem Klein- oder Zwergwuchs einhergehen (Endgröße von <150 cm). Obwohl diese Erkrankungen sehr heterogene Auswirkungen haben, ist es insbesondere der Kleinwuchs, der in der Gesellschaft des 21. Jahrhunderts mit ihren hohen ästhetischen Anforderungen im Vordergrund steht.
