Zusammenfassung

Da es bisher nicht möglich ist, die vorliegenden neurobiologischen Befunde zum frühkindlichen Autismus zu diagnostischen Zwecken zu nutzen, basiert die derzeit gängige Diagnostik weiterhin auf

  • anamnestischen Angaben von Eltern bzw. Bezugspersonen,

  • Exploration der Eltern/Bezugspersonen sowie im Jugendalter auch des Betroffenen selbst,

  • Verhaltensbeobachtung unter Berücksichtigung der drei für den frühkindlichen Autismus typischen Symptombereiche (qualitative Beeinträchtigung der sozialen Interaktion, Beeinträchtigung der Kommunikation, begrenztes, repetitives und stereotypes Verhalten),

  • Interpretation von Testverfahren.
