Zusammenfassung
Der frühkindliche Autismus wurde bereits von dem Erstbeschreiber Leo Kanner als angeboren oder in frühester Kindheit erworben angesehen. Es handelt sich um eine Störung mit einer schweren qualitativen Abweichung vom üblichen Entwicklungsverlauf. Der frühkindliche Autismus wird sowohl in der ICD-10 als auch im DSM-IV-TR den tiefgreifenden Entwicklungsstörungen zugeordnet und kategorial klassifiziert.
