Abstract
In this paper we analyze the utility of some signal processing methods in detecting specific patterns present in the EEG signal, which may give information about the inset of brain disorders, in particular signs of epileptic activity. We approach the matched filter method to detect spike-and-wave patterns and we also analyze the EEG signal using the independent component analysis and frequency spectrum.
