The Gel-Casting of Non-Oxide Ceramics

  • Chapter
Novel Colloidal Forming of Ceramics

Abstract

In this chapter, the non-oxide powder surface characteristics before and after treatment and the effect of surface modification on the solid loading of its aqueous suspension were studied systematically. For Si3N4 powders, a universal method to prepare highly concentrated suspensions has been established. The results show that the Si3N4 ceramics with high-reliability was obtained by surface modification of the powder and different processing strategy.
