Cloud as Virtual Databases: Bridging Private Databases and Web Services

Abstract

We propose an extensible platform for bridging private databases and Web services. Our main idea is to make a Web service and its results be a set of virtual tables in a relational database (RDB) environment. As private data that cannot be disclosed is stored in private RDBs, these virtual tables realize a bridge between private RDBs and Web services.
