Zusammenfassung

Verletzungen der Wirbelsäule und insbesondere des Rückenmarks können zu lang andauernden Beeinträchtigungen bis hin zu Querschnittslähmungen oder Tetraplegien führen. Die Halswirbelsäule ist das Segment der Wirbelsäule, das am häufigsten verletzt wird. Da Hals und Kopf eine funktionelle Einheit bilden, schliessen Belastungen des Kopfes oftmals auch eine Belastung des Halses ein.
