Shaped Beam Radiosurgery

Abstract

Stereotactic radiation is a reasonable approach for a multitude of rare tumors of the skull base. These tumors are infrequently resected completely without substantial morbidity. Examples of such tumors are paragangliomas, recurrent cancer of the nasopharynx, esthesioneuroblastoma, recurrent salivary gland carcinoma, and rhabdomyosarcoma in the orbit. Due to their rarity, there are no large series of tumors treated with shaped beam radiosurgery presented herein.
