Abstract
Soit G l'un des deux groupes discrets suivants :
-
1)
le groupe des difféomorphismes de ℝ à support compact et de classe C∞ , noté \({\text{Diff}}_{\text{C}}^\infty \left( \mathbb{R} \right)\);
-
2)
le groupe des difféomorphismes de l'intervalle fermé [0,l] préservant 1'orientation et de classe C∞, noté Diff∞[0,l] .
Pour tout élément c de H2(G,ℤ) , il existe une surface compacte orientée sans bord M , et une application continue h de M dans l'espace classifiant BG , telles que c soit 1'image de la classe fondamentale de M par l'application induite de H2(M;ℤ) dans H2(BG;ℤ) . Puisque BG est un K(G,1) , on associe à la classe d'homotopie de h un homomorphisme α de π1 (M) dans G . Réciproquement, la donnée d'un tel homomorphisme α permet de definir un élément unique c de H2(G;ℤ) .
