Abstract
Over 200 million people earn their livelihood from working in the area of tourism. Thus the tourism industry has become a growing and meaningful business sector and increasingly sees itself confronted with stakeholder demands and allegations of wrong-doing. It is interesting to note that a business sector that has always been a front runner in addressing global or local impacts has only recently been finding its role in the CSR debate.
