Abstract
In this chapter, we will use Monte Carlo calculations and random number generators to create test images for digital image analysis. The first program (RANDOM) generates outlines of particle fabrics to be evaluated by image analysis programs and to test and evaluate methods of shape and strain analysis. The second program (MONTECARLO) generates circular cross sections by random sectioning of spheres to test methods for grain size analysis.
