Abstract

Epithelial tumors are the most common type of ovarian tumors. They are primarily cystic and, if malignant, are associated with solid components. Papillary projections are a distinctive feature of epithelial tumors. Profuse papillary projections are highly suggestive of borderline malignant or malignant epithelial tumors. In this chapter, we review and discuss US, CT, and MRI features of the spectrum of epithelial ovarian tumors, which are classified into six categories: serous, mucinous, endometrioid, clear cell, Brenner, and undifferentiated tumors. Furthermore, we can indicate a specific diagnosis or allow substantial narrowing of the differential diagnosis.
