Abstract
When we defined electrochemistry in Chap. 1, we made a special case for including the interface between two liquid electrolytes. Because they show many similarities with the more usual electrochemical systems. Much of the interest in these interfaces resides in the fact that they can serve as models for membranes , but they are also interesting systems in their own right. Often, these interfaces are also denoted as interfaces between two immiscible solutions (ITIES). However, since in most cases the two liquids are not totally immiscible, we shall not use this terminology.
