Abstract
We consider the dumbbell charge system under a linear acceleration perpendicular to its axis as shown in Fig. 6.1. So we have two like charges q e /2, treated as points and separated by a constant distance d. Let us formulate this. We shall take the dumbbell axis to lie along the z direction, and the motion of each charge to be solely in the x direction.
