Zusammenfassung

Die Ovarien lassen sich transabdominal, transvaginal, transrektal oder anlässlich einer Pelviskopie punktieren [3, 34]. Die Literatur zur Zytologie ovarieller Veränderungen ist jedoch noch immer nicht sehr umfangreich. Die Indikation zur Aspirationszytologie des Ovars ist und bleibt strittig [8, 15, 44], vor allem da man befürchten muss, dass der Übertritt von Flüssigkeit aus rupturierten zystischen Ovarialtumoren zu ausgedehnten Implantationsmetastasen im Peritoneum führt. Dabei ist bislang nicht bekannt, ob und wie häufig tatsächlich im Anschluss an Feinnadelpunktionen mit Implantationsmetastasen zu rechnen ist. Die Anwendung der FNA wird vor allem bei jungen Patientinnen befürwortet, bei denen Karzinome selten sind, aber abgelehnt bei postmenopausalen Frauen [15].
