Zusammenfassung

Die Feinnadelpunktion der Speicheldrüsen liefert in vielen Fällen innerhalb kürzester Zeit eine zuverlässige Diagnose und ist daher eine wichtige Entscheidungshilfe bei der Therapieplanung. Präoperative Wartezeiten werden verkürzt. Unnötige Operationen werden vermieden. Allerdings ist wegen der Seltenheit vieler Speicheldrüsentumoren auch mit zytologisch schwer lösbaren Problemfällen zu rechnen [7].
