Zusammenfassung

Das vorliegende Kapitel befasst sich mit der Pathogenese und der Histopathologie der alkoholischen Leberschädigung, einer weltweit zunehmenden Fettlebererkrankung. Da nur eine mäßige Korrelation zwischen biochemischen und klinischen Parametern sowie der histologischen Ausprägung bei alkoholischen Lebererkrankungen besteht, kommt der histologischen Untersuchung bei Diagnose, Differentialdiagnose, aber auch bei der Abschätzung der Prognose eine wichtige Bedeutung zu. Der Text wird durch zahlreiche histologische Abbildungen und Tabellen ergänzt. Besonderes Augenmerk richtet sich auf die Darstellung klinisch-pathologischer Korrelationen.
