Abstract
With the last couple of problems involving HOMO–LUMO energy gaps and photon wavelengths we have laid a foundation for optical spectroscopy. Spectroscopy is a method that uses light to analyze materials. When the electromagnetic radiation is visible light we call it optical spectroscopy. Optical spectroscopy usually covers a range from 200 nm, a deep UV, to 1,000 nm, the near-infrared, NIR.
